Given that he's had forty years to plan this movie, Zarchi's script is incredibly poor, and his cast is absolutely dreadful, but the worst thing about Deja Vu is its runtime of almost two and a half hours, every scene outstaying its welcome, making the film a gruelling experience for all the wrong reasons. This belated sequel to notorious 1978 shocker I Spit On Your Grave fails to replicate the original's success (understatement of the year?), despite the return of director Meir Zarchi and star Keaton. Kidnapped along with her super-model daughter Christy (Jamie Bernadette, looking every inch unlike a world famous fashion icon), Jennifer once again faces a terrifying ordeal. Now the author of a best-selling account of her ordeal, titled 'I Spit On Their Graves', Jennifer has understandably incurred the wrath of her victims' relatives. Smile as you see your child experience similar experiences.It's been four decades since gang rape victim Jennifer Hills (Camille Keaton) was somehow acquitted of cutting, chopping, breaking and burning five men beyond recognition. Show them all the amazing things you loved growing up. Enjoy life but also help your child enjoy every second of it as well. Nostalgia brings back happy moments that might have been forgotten temporarily. You lived it and can feel them feeling it. You are proud of your child, but you also know that feeling. The look of happiness after they master a skill that is difficult. You see the excitement as your child makes their first basket or goal. My husband then said he remembered when he and his sister would rewind (yes, they had VHS) the video over and over to watch Iago smack into the wall after the Sultan rode the Magic Carpet. When we were watching Aladdin, my daughter started dancing around the room to “Friend like me.” That moment alone was so cute. Trust me, my favorite movie of all time, The Wizard of Oz, is next on the list. I figured the music would help capture her attention. I started off with The Lion King and Aladdin. Now as she gets older, it was time to show her. I couldn’t wait to show her the movies that I idolized growing up. When I got pregnant, I made a list of all movies I wanted to eventually watch with my daughter. I used to get so excited to see all the characters and have them sign my autograph book. It brought back memories of when my parents would take me to Disney World. Personally, it brought me so much joy to see my daughter get excited to see Minnie Mouse for the first time. The excitement when you realized you were tall enough to go on Space Mountain or Splash Mountain. The joy felt riding It’s a Small World for the first time. Now whether you are a Disney enthusiast or not, everyone knows that first feeling they have when they went to Disney World (or Disney Land).
